This is the best spot I've ever being at. Ju and the guys are just amazing without mention their amazing Japanese food. For the healthy freaks like myself this is the SPOT, the have several options like "Protein Poke Bowl with brown Rice", "Sexy cucumber", "Salmon Sushi", "Tuna Sunset", "Chicken Teriyaki bowl with brown rice", etc etc! BEST IN OC!

Decided to stop by on a Tuesday evening for dinner after reading the positive reviews and seeing it was a 4 star sushi place. I should have turned around after walking up to the entrance that had a daily special sign blocking the door. We walked in, and were not greeted or acknowledged for 3 minutes. An older Asian man (I'm assuming the owner or manager) stood at the register without saying a thing. The waitress looked over and told us to sit wherever. We sat at the table for 5 minutes without a menu. During this time, I contemplated whether I wanted to stay because it was apparent that the restaurant highly lacked decent customer service. The waitress then came over and took our order. While we waited for our food, we looked around the place. The floor and tables were dirty and all glass had stains. I had a floating white thing in my water. The one good thing about this spot was the taste of the sushi. The rolls were fresh and had great flavor. However, they weren't nicely sized like other reviews said. In my opinion, there are many other sushi places in Orange and nearby cities that I would recommend such as Sushi Boom, Sushi Bear, and Koisan Sushi & Japanese Cuisine. I hate leaving negative reviews but I think any potential customer should know about these things before visiting here.

Honda Sushi offers no actual Sushi and perhaps the worst Poke Bowl you will find in Orange County. After seeing several favorable reviews posted on Yelp I decided to stop in and put them through the paces. Honda Sushi is a local hole in the wall spot that specializes in Rolls and offers no actual Sushi, or at least at lunch. If you are a fan of Sushi "lite" (meaning you don't really care for Sushi) this is your place. Maybe. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are definitely affordable for the genre. That is where my niceties end. I ordered their Hawaiian Poke Bowl Which comes with Cubed Tuna and Salmon that is tossed in a weak Ponzu and served with Salad Mix (or Rice), sliced Onion, Cucumber, and a wedge of Avocado a day past it's prime. The seafood is atrocious - sinew laden and far from fresh with an especially gummy texture in the mouthfeel. Thanks to the anemic Ponzu I was forced to load up on the Soy which made the Poke overly salty. Worse yet, they didn't toss the Salad in Dressing so the majority of it was pooled on the bottom and the Salad was dry and flavorless. I will go on record to state this is OC's worst Poke Bowl. LA, IE, and SD's too. Come on Yelp, we can do better than this. Cross Honda Sushi off the list and head to the countless other Sushi purveyors in the area. Trust me on this one.

It's potent sushi best I've had they're big in size as well recommend to all sushi lovers. Fresh food, large portions and great service.

I was introduced to this place by my bestie Paul P. Great choice!!t Honda sushi is small and from outside looks like another unassuming strip mall local, inside is small and very clean. Their sushi's quality is good, and you get a decent amount for your money. I have the tendency of order the same in the restaurants, lack of adventure? Perhaps, but it's so hard to try new stuff. In Honda I have tried their salmon sashimi, happy baby and crunchy roll (pictures attached) also their miso soup and green tea are delicious. My only complain is their lack of alcohol license, nothing better than umeshu and sushi, or a Japanese beer, hopefully in a nearby future they have it. Cost benefit this place is worth try it and keep trying, next time I'll try something else, promise!! Of course I'll be back. Highly Recommended!

An unexpected find on Tustin and Collins in Orange. Much better than one would think. Offering super cheap bowls, plates and bentos. The price hike is in the Sushi and Poki bowls. The base bowl is about $9.99. Avacado was an additional $2.00, the crunch piece was another $2.00. Poki Bowl was good, just a tad expensive in the end. Teriyaki chicken bowl was yummy. A mix of fresh slaw snuggled up next to the rice and topped with a thin char grilled chicken breast topped with seasame seeds and green onions. Such a steal for $5.99 especially when it was paired with a bowl of Miso Soup. Lots of excellent deals. Especially the 2 and 3 item combos starting at $10.99. A plate packed with food. 2 items, rice, salad snd Miso Soup. Such a killer deal. Im getting that next time for sure. Udon noodles, Ramen and Sushi also up for grabs. A little something for everyone. Service was friendly. Not as attentive as it could of been. But in their defense there was only one waitress. Im a fan and would return. 3.5 and rounding up.

Only been there once but the service was quick and the food was delicious. The place wasn't the nicest but the people were very nice and the service was good. I woulda recommend it if you're in the area. The prices are good too!

Value Here!! 3.5 Stars This is a small shop located just to the south of Katella of off Tustin. They food ranges from sushi and sashimi to specialty rolls and bento. The prices are extremely reasonable. ~Salmon Belly 3.5 Stars The Salmon was pretty good. ~Crunchy Roll-3 Stars Avocado and crab with lots of sauce. I am not a fan of sauces but I am sure they can make any changes you want. AOK. ~Yellow Tail Belly-3 Stars AOK. Bento Special!!! For under $10, this is a deal. The meat is seasoned deliciously but a bit on the tough side. You get ton pick either 2 or 3 options depending on the combo you get. Very nice people working here. If you are looking for high end exceptional sushi, this is not the place in you opinion. However, there is a good cook and Chef and great service!

Amazing food at unbeatable prices! Unbelievable friendly servic. Owner/chef is creative and obviously loves what he does. Philly roll is my favourite! Well worth your time to try it out!

Nice poke bowl. Nice and cold and good portions. Don't know about the Xmas caroles before thanksgiving tho. Need taller chairs at the sushi bar. Could be cleaner.

Good food ,good service ,ordered off the menu and they came through for me with some delicious sushi

Best sushi spot ever! Ju is the man. Fresh sushi for a great price. Everyone is so nice and friendly. My favorite is the hungry roll. Keep up the great work Ju and staff

Quality Sushi and service!! Ju is the man!! I've tried many other sushi places before but nothing tops this one. He takes a lot of pride in what he buys and serves to his customers! Go check him out!

This place gets mad props because they are the few or maybe the only sushi joint that is open on Sunday. I don't know why, but we get mad cravings for sushi on Sundays and every sushi restaurant seems to be closed but this one. Anyway, I love this sushi place. They have very fresh sushi rolls and my favorite is the 911 sushi roll. We also love the crab salad. Wow. Just filled with crab and other goodies. The crab salad is so big that you might get full off of it and not eat the sushi rolls! Great choice if are not interested in eating anything carby. I also recommend the firecracker appetizer if you like spicy tuna. Comes with delicious won tons. This place might be tiny but the service is excellent and they will accommodate to your dietary needs. We are big fans.

Very friendly and good food for the price. Small and clean inside and the only reason it's not a 5 star is because the shush is good not excellent but again for the price it's hard to beat.

I really didn't like the sauces that they put on my tiger roll , it tasted weird and my stomach hurting after eating here

First time trying at Honda sushi and I will love this place!!! Poke bowl here is one of the best around here!!!

Came here with a friend because I was specifically craving udon. We each ordered a bowl of the tempura udon and some sushi to split. When the waitress brought us each a bowl of tempura we though she misunderstood that we wanted the udon, but she corrected us saying yes, this is the portion of tempura that comes with it. We were completely stuffed and definitely did not need to order the sushi. The udon hit the spot and was ridiculously cheap, something like $7 for all that food. The place is pretty small but we were seated immediately on a Sunday night. Plenty of parking in the back. Since the soup was good, I'd come back to have some more or to try the sushi or bento boxes

This place is a 10 out of 10! We had the mushroom bomb and avocado bomb and both were incredible! The In n Out roll is top notch, super fresh! We also had the rock and roll and it was to die for. Our friends got the Hot Hot roll and wow! An incredible roll with a kick. All of our rolls were delicious and super fresh! We've never been disappointed with anything we get here but today was once again a confirmation of why we love this place so much.

It was a Sunday and of course I was craving a poke bowl and some miso. Sundays can be tricky in the sushi world. About half of my go-to spots were closed so I was delighted to discover Honda conducts business on Sunday. I have always driven past this place and been curious to try. I went in and waited in line for my take-out order. This place was rather small and it seems a lot of people had the same idea to get take-out. The poke bowls are not build your own, there are a few different options with varying styles. I went for the hawaiian bowl. It was really busy so I figured it would take longer than usual and I was starving having just gotten off work. The employee was really nice and gave me my miso soup while I waited on my bowl. Having that to snack on made the wait much more tolerable! When I got home I devoured the bowl. It was very flavorful and quality fish. However the bowl was packed to the brim with rice. Also, it wasn't really a bowl it was a styrofoam container. I really liked it I just think they jipped me on the fish and gave me way too much rice. It was like the equivalent to order a taco with meat and getting 75% lettuce... Anyways I would definitely come back for a roll but steer clear of the poke bowls.

Best sushi in the area, I drive 20-25 minutes to go here and it's always worth it. Quality is top notch, always super fresh and the service is wonderful. Complimentary gyoza with most orders. The prices are on the high side but you pay for quality. My favorite items are the blue fin sashimi, jimbo roll and cherry blossom roll. Writing this review has now made me hungry for some delicious Honda Sushi.

This might be my new favorite spot for sushi! Took my friend here for her birthday recently. We parked in the parking lot in front which had a decent amount of parking spots. I could see this lot getting packed on a busy night though. We had a really good time. Right when we walked in for dinner at 6:30, we were immediately greeted and sat down. We ordered two rolls and were treated with a Gyoza appetizer on the house....That's one way to get to my heart...Time for food!! We got two rolls: The Lion King and the Dragon Roll. Both rolls were extremely good. The fish tasted fresh and I just loved the presentation on the plate. But what I really liked about the rolls is the size. These rolls were huuuuuge. Or at least the Dragon Roll fit it's name. You go to some of these sushi places and sometimes you just feel cheated with small rolls or just way too much rice. Honda sushi finds a really good balance of the fish with the rice so I just wanted to emphasize that. Honda sushi is the whole package. The prices are solid. The service is amazing and the food...hohoho. The food is very tasty and feeling. And just the overall feel of the place, feels like an actual sushi bar. I will definitely be back!!

Gotta love a good hidden sushi place. Honda provided great service, fresh fish, and reasonable prices for the portions. I am a strong believer in you get what you pay for and when you are talking about raw fish, that theory doubles. We got the sashimi (10 pieces for ~$20) with shiro maguro and hamachi. Both were extremely fresh but the shiro maguro was definitely my favorite. I can't remember the name but we also got one of the rolls with tempura asparagus, spicy tuna and a bunch of other stuff. It was MASSIVE. The garlic on top was a little overpowering but if you push some of the extra off it provides a nice contrast. Definitely a solid find for local sushi.

Review #200 has to go to this place. My family and I absolutely love love love this mom and pop shop! The husband works at the sushi bar and the wife works as the head server. When I first discovered this restaurant through Yelp, I was blown away by the amazing food so I came back twice in the same month - once with my parents, and another time with my boyfriend. It got to the point where the ajumma jokingly said "see you tomorrow!" to us when we left haha. Their menu is very extensive. The food here is well-priced and you get huge portions, especially when you order a bento. The fish is really, really fresh but if raw fish isn't your thing, they have lots of cooked items. Their tempura batter is really good, as in if you want fried foods you're gonna get really hearty fried foods. I like that they give everyone a free starter of fried dumplings too to prime the stomach. If you order a meal, salad is included and the dressing is made in house and so yummy! Honda Sushi is a treasure in this little rundown plaza. The restaurant walls are lined with photos of loyal customers having a good time in the restaurant from over the decades. I'm glad to have found this little gem!

First time experience: Pros: + Fresh fish and delicious tempura/meals. + Service was quick and efficient. + Area was clean. + Seats approximately 40 people at a time. + The sushi bar seems really fun and friendly. + Serving for the price is reasonable. Cons: -Can be quite pricey. -Dining for dinner was really crowded and noisy. -No outdoor seating. -Parking can be limited.

I think this is one of the best sushi place in that area, it's a bit pricey but their fish and quality of it is amazing , or and rolls are big, if you go with two rolls in other places here you take one it will be enough. If you think about sushi and you are around check this place out!

Best sushi and customer service ever!! Fresh fish, huge portions and friendly staff. It has been so long since i was treated so well! The uni was fresh, the toro was like butter and even the wasabi was fresh. This is officially my new favorite sushi house. I won't bother with local sushi houses again.

Seen this place many times before when we eat at neighboring Chevy's. Now Chevys is gone and I found This place in yelp while searching for other sushi restos in the area. The reviews were good and I have to agree, it is good. Food was great and the serve staff were nice and are Japanese speaking! I recommend but I don't want everyone coming here when I'm here! Lol, because of the small space. If you spend a certain amount, they do give you free items!

This was my 1st time here. This was some of the best sushi I have ever had. The people working there were super nice, and on top of everything. They were not slow, and if there was a little wait, they brought us little various tasters. I can't believe they have been there for 15 years, and I've never been there. I went with 2 other people, and we all agreed. We will be back. We ate sooo much food. The fish was so fresh. We had a sashimi plate, hand rolls, oysters, pieces and rolls. Not 1 single bad bite. The rolls were all HUGE. The pieces on the sashimi plate were huge and there was allot. Oysters were the best... they have a huge selection of sake. And the wine was very reasonable price for decent wine! When we were all overly stuffed.. they brought out this fish ice cream. It's vanilla ice cream with red bean paste, in a cone she'll that was formed into a fish. That was the perfect finish to a absolutely perfect meal. Please give this place a try if you are in the area and craving sushi!

Wow! Just Wow. I have found the most legit sushi in the east bay! Shout out to Daniela V., who via yelp reccommended I go here. The husband and wife team are truly fantastic working together. The portions were GIANT.. We all had left overs. The fish so very fresh and perfect. The tempura was out of this world. Miso soup, better than any I have had. Normally when we order multiple rolls we are disappointed with one of them.. taking the sweet waitresses (wife of sushi chef) suggestions, both rolls we ordered were fabulous and we would order again and again. And extra kudos for our request for extra wasabi being answered with a mountain of it.. Wasabi = love. Then, my son picked up the check, all secret like, for the 3 of us. Mom protests and I smile.. I dont know if sushi will ever be as good as it was here. Thanks Honda sushi and Daniela V. for showing us our new sushi spot.

Returned yet again with out of town relatives in tow. I caught myself saying "I love Jos Honda Sushi", three times. My favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. The customer service alone has me returning again and again. I noticed something tonight and it speaks to why this little restaurant is so successful. Jo Honda (chef/owner/proprietor, not sure it that's his actual name or not) is in there behind the counter every time we come in. He knows his customers and has a wonderful rapport. He genuinely seems to enjoy running the restaurant. Can't wait until my next visit.

Food is ok, service was terrible.. waitress does not speak English and gave us dirty altitude for not signing bill immediately

The best dinner experience I had in my local area. They gave amazing customer service, the give you free potstickers when you come in, the service was so on top of that they were even so generous with their portions! I personally think this restaurant is an amazing hidden gem to go to! The quality of the sashimi I had was soooo good. This was the best toro i ever had!

Absolutely LOVE this place. It's starts with the OWNER and Sushi Chef Mr. Honda himself. WISH I COULD GIVE them an extra STAR for the great service! Had a celebration for a friend's bday here. They were able to accommodate all of us 10.5 (haha baby in tow, they even put some paper towels on the floor underneath her high chair..they must get babies' a lot lol). Anyway, we had some great appetizers gyoza, edamame, seaweed salad. BEST THING EVER: Scallops Sashimi (OMG it's heaven in my mouth). Got the $50 Sashmi plate, and Everything was soooo fresh! SO much to share! Wish I took a picture, but it was also pretty as well as YUMMY! but we were hungry and having so much fun. UNI was great too! Sushi ROLLS were DA BOMB. They also gave us some free additional items extra gyoza and rolls! SERVICE : BEST EVER! * the waiters/waitress always made sure we had our water / tea filled * continuously came to our table to clean or ask if we needed anything * for the bday, not only did the owner come and celebrate with us but gave us some free SAKE ... my friend had such a good time...they gave her a hat dimmed the lights, so we can sing happy birthday to her with her birthday candles Side note: had a TV, so we were able to watch the game (when we went it was the Warriors game, so this review is a long time coming LOL) GO HERE, this is my favorite sushi joint in the east bay! It does get busy and not a huge place, but the FOOD, Service, and AWESOME owner/sushi chef make the whole place come alive! Not your usual boring sushi joint!

If you like spicy. Ask for the Gee Poppers. Stuffed jalapenos with siracha on top, and deep fried. Not on the menu but they are spicy and so good.

Honda was amazing! We sat at the bar and had the best experience! He was so friendly and funny. Didn't know that dinner came with a show and jokes! My family and I couldn't stop laughing through out our whole dinner. We got a few Honda specials, every single thing we tried was delicious! So tasty so many flavors that complemented each other so well. Will definitely be back!!

A neighborhood sushi restaurant inside the small plaza where Outback is in Ellinwood area. Prices are definitely higher than your usual and portions/quality don't justify. I had the chirashi/spicy tuna roll and it came out to $37.xx. Chirashi is $27ish and while the cuts were decently sized but not large. I was expecting better than average. The portions were decent and fish was fresh but just not great. It came with side salad and small miso soup. Spicy tuna roll was ok and came with 4 fried gyoza which were the frozen pre-packaged type. Overall, this is just your usual Korean owned sushi restaurant with overpriced food but decent portions. I've had the bento boxes before and those are pricey as well at $18-20.00 but large portions. Service seemed to be scattered when I went since they were getting orders mixed up in the kitchen. It was even a packed house with 3 plus servers working...

Came here for our friend's birthday. The place is awesome! The sushi was incredibly fresh and the service was top-notch. We've been here probably 10 times...we love it! Joe and his wife Lee are the nicest, warmest, most fun people ever! Crack a couple jokes with them and you'll be drinking shots of soju with Joe in no time!

Definitely a sushi must! A quaint spot tucked away in one of the neighborhoods in Concord. We sat at the bar. Mr. Honda greeted us immediately. After ordering some rolls, we were served some pot-stickers (on the house). Noticed another couple taking shots with Mr. Honda so we did too! A few soju bottles later, we were laughing and having a great time! I specifically went for the Uni. IT WAS AMAZING!!! We will definitely go back again!

This recommendation couldn't have worked out better! What an incredible experience! Joe honda is an incredible chef! Tucked away but worth the visit!!
