Компания сообщает, что Vision XS-1 должен представлять творчество Хонды в области компактных автомобилей, чей рынок растёт во всём мире.

П аркетник Honda Vision XS-1 пополнил ряд компактных кроссоверов, привезённых автопроизводителями в Нью-Дели. Судя по фото и видео (официальных данных нет), автомобиль насчитывает в длину порядка четырёх метров, может, немного больше. Однако в салоне японцы с присущей им ловкостью разместили семь мест в трёх рядах, что отражает общую философию Хонды, звучащую как «максимум человека, минимум машины», мол, удобство использования, интерьер — на первом месте, всё остальное — только обрамление.

Большие сдвижные двери, открывающие доступ ко всем рядам, — это решение яркое, но спорное. Скажем, сити-кар Peugeot 1007 с такими створками особой популярности не снискал и после нескольких лет падения продаж был снят с производства всего на пятый год с момента запуска на конвейер.

Хотя нет никакого плана массового производства этой модели на данный момент, Honda выбрала Индию для премьеры концепта как один из быстрорастущих рынков. Это заявление японцев означает, что у данного «творческого исследования» (определение самой компании) есть шанс в будущем трансформироваться в какую-то серийную машину, пусть не столь радикальную по дизайну.

Напомним, что у Хонды сейчас есть только один паркетник приблизительно такого же размера. Это новый кроссовер Vezel (слева), насчитывающий от «носа» до «хвоста» 4295 мм. А с 2008 по 2010 года на японском рынке присутствовал паркетник Honda Crossroad (4285 мм), причём в его сравнительно компактном кузове, как и в XS-1, было семь мест.

На противоположной стороне земного шара у Хонды появилась другая, совсем скромная новость. Американское отделение представило седаны Honda Civic в модификациях Hybrid и Natural Gas в версии 2014 года. Гибрид со средним расходом топлива 5,23 л/100 км поступил в продажу сегодня 5 февраля, а версия, работающая на метане (средний расход 7,59 л/100 км), будет доступна в США с 15 февраля.

Слегка обновлённый гибрид стартует в США с отметки $24 635, а автомобиль на природном газе — $26 640.

Изменения в новом году затронули лишь оснащение и отделку интерьера.

Обе машины получили мультимедийку Display Audio с семидюймовым сенсорным экраном и системой HondaLink нового поколения, обеспечивающей доступ к облачному контенту в режиме онлайн. Обе версии Сивика оборудованы водительским зеркалом заднего вида Expanded View и камерой LaneWatch для наблюдения за слепой зоной. Впервые для модели Civic Natural Gas предложена комплектация Leather Navi с кожаными сиденьями, подогревом боковых зеркал и аудиосистемой с шестью динамиками, а в стандартной комплектации поменялись материалы отделки сидений и дверных панелей.

At the New Delhi Auto Expo 2014 Honda has presented the Vision XS-1 Concept, a compact crossover that combines a dynamic exterior styling with a spacious seven-seater interior.

По словам представителей «Хонды», основной задачей дизайнеров при разработке этого прототипа стала возможность совместить компактный кузов, спортивный внешний вид и просторный салон. В результате автомобиль получил две большие сдвижные двери и три ряда кресел, которые могут полностью складываться, образуя ровную погрузочную площадку.

К сожалению, в обозримом будущем в модельном ряду Honda вряд ли может появиться автомобиль такой конфигурации. К сдвижным дверям не питают особой любви ни конструкторы легковых машин (такая конструкция тяжелее обычной двери и уменьшает полезное пространство внутри кузова), ни потенциальные покупатели. Избавиться от средней стойки можно, лишь активно используя в конструкции продвинутые материалы вроде карбона, что сделает автомобиль дорогим: к примеру, в последние годы на это решилась лишь BMW на своем "программном", созданном явно не прибыли ради электромобиле i3. Впрочем, представители Honda и не заявляли, что Vision XS-1 является прообразом будущей серийной модели.

В официальном заявлении подчеркивается роль концепт-кара в демонстрации новой конструкторской философии M/M. Она предусматривает максимально компактное размещение всех ключевых агрегатов, которое позволяет предоставить максимум пространства в распоряжение водителя и пассажиров.

Honda Vision 110 - Details and specifications.

Honda Motor Europe announced that its fast-growing scooter family receives a new member – a stylish 110cc commuter that combines ample performance with superb fuel economy. It also boasts plenty of storage space, Honda’s Combined Braking System and comfort for both rider and passenger. This new scooter is named as Vision 110.

The Vision 110 is likely to be the replacement of the Dio in the European market. The best news is that this scooter will be manufactured in the Indian plant and would then be exported to the UK.

A close look at the Vision 110 made me feel that it resembles the Honda Aviator to a certain extent, especially in the front and the rear part of it. This scooter is expected the rock the UK roads by the end of August this year. That means that the production should have begun in the Indian plant by this point of time, proving the fact that only then launch could be carried out.

What makes me interested in this news is that the looks and the spec sheet of this scooter seems like it is an ideal fit to the Indian market. That means this might come to India at a later point. We have no clues on if it would be a replacement model for the present Activa and Duo or would come as a standalone model.

The Vision 110 features an ergonomically designed seat at a height of 760mm, allowing plenty of legroom. There is the luggage space under the seat, with the additional option of helmet holders on both sides of the under-seat compartment to allow for this area to be left for storing luggage or other shopping stuff. The leg shield in front of the rider provides not only effective weather protection but also additional storage as the two open compartments are ideal for holding drinks bottles securely.

The manufacturer is also making a wide range of accessories which include an alarm kit, a U-lock, high windscreen (remember the Kinetic Marvel which had the windscreen as an accessory)and hand guards as well.

The Honda Vision 110 equipped with a 110cc Fuel Injected engine. The manufacturer claims a fuel economy of 50.2 kmpl. The scooter weighs only 102 kg which is about 8 kg less than the present Activa. Honda claims a peak power output of 8.4PS @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.7 Nm @ 6500rpm.  The Vision 110 is also a Euro 3 compliant.

To mention about the brakes of the Vision 110, it uses a Combined ABS – the one that is used in the recently launched Honda CBR 250R, which is far superior that the Honda Aviator that is the benchmark for Indian scooters.

The Vision 110 is priced at £1800 which equals around 1.35 lakh in terms of INR. But, iof the same comes to India, it would be priced in par with other scooters in the market. This model will be available in the colours of Pearl Procyon Black, Boss Grey Metallic, Pearl White, Candy Lucid Red and Candy Aluja Blue.

1. Introduction

Simple, straightforward and affordable transport. Sometimes that is all a rider needs a scooter to be – good value in both purchase and ownership, convenient day-to-day and ultra-reliable in the long term. And those are the boxes that the Honda Vision has firmly ticked since its introduction to Europe in 2011. 

Its robust, air-cooled simplicity holds strong appeal for both younger and older riders, as does its practicality and ease of use. And while it is affordable, the Vision has never made sacrifices on quality – it’s been built to last. For 2017 there is a brand new Vision. Assembled in Italy, the new machine stays close to its clear-cut first principles but is now more economical, makes more torque and features an updated chassis, styling and rider ergonomics.

 

2. Model Overview

The 17YM Vision features a 108cc air-cooled version of Honda’s water-cooled eSP (enhanced Smart Power) low friction engine, equipped with Idling Stop. It makes more torque where it’s most needed - off the bottom and through the middle of the rev range.

A complete re-styling brings sleek new bodywork; the riding position is roomier and pillion comfort has also been improved. Sturdier front forks and extra ground clearance enhance road holding on broken surfaces while CBS (Combined Braking System) provides ample and consistent stopping power from both brakes. 

There’s still plenty of storage under the seat, which is now opened by a combination switch control that also operates the ignition.

 

3. Key Features

3.1 Engine

The Vision’s new 108cc fuel-injected 2V OHC eSP engine is a highly durable and lightweight unit. Compared to the outgoing engine, peak torque is up from 8.7Nm to 9Nm with peak power of 6.5kw @ at 7,500rpm. The engine also meets the stringent new EURO4 regulations, under which the allowable limits for exhaust tailpipe pollutants, such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrous oxide, are half of those for EURO3. Fuel efficiency is unchanged at 52km/litre.

A compact combustion chamber matches burn velocity and cooling performance. Bore and stroke is set at 50 x 55.1mm, with compression ratio of 9.5:1. The air intake port is ultra-smooth, assisting gas flow, and optimised ignition timing improves ‘knocking’ resistance.

Low-friction technologies are employed internally; the cylinder sleeve uses minute splines on its outer surface to reduce oil consumption and improve cooling and the cylinder is offset, further reducing friction.

A shell-type needle bearing is used for the rocker arm shaft while smaller, lighter rollers work in conjunction with the cam profile and valve spring load. Rolling resistance within the transmission is reduced by the use of three main bearings, all designed to deal with the loads they each individually receive.

A key fuel-saving technology incorporated into the Vision is Idling Stop. It’s operated via a switch on the right handlebar and when enabled automatically stops the engine running after three seconds at idle, and re-starts it instantly when the throttle grip is twisted. 

It’s seamless in use, thanks to a swing-back system that returns the crank to its position before air intake, and a decompression mechanism that negates cranking resistance due to compression. The ACG starter also generates electricity, doing away with a conventional system’s motor and gears.

 

3.2 Chassis

The Vision is built to be nimble and easy to ride. Its tubular steel underbone frame provides rigidity and up front a new 35mm diameter fork (an increase of 4mm) improves every aspect of handling and ride comfort. Rake and trail is set at 27°/70mm with a wheelbase of 1,290mm. Kerb weight is 102kg with a maximum carrying capacity of 150kg.

Fresh styling plays on the Vision’s unfussy strengths and increases appeal: a mixture of smoothed lines for the body with sharper angles for the headlight area, and revised indicators bring it right up to date. A practical rear ‘hugger’ mudguard has also been added.

With a 10mm narrower width (at 380mm) and narrower mirrors the Vision is even easier to navigate through busy city streets. The seat height of 770mm is 25mm lower and there’s much more leg room for the rider on the flat floor, with an increased floor length of 15mm in the centre, to 170mm and an extra 20mm either side at 370mm.

Pillion comfort has not been forgotten. The pegs have been moved 25mm forward while the grab rail features a revised shape. A side stand aids stop-and-go convenience.

The volume of the underseat compartment has been maintained at 18L ­– it’ll take a full-face helmet – but the seat now opens via a combination switch mounted below the handlebars. Two additional open storage areas are sited ahead of the rider’s knees and helmet holders on either side of the underseat area allow two helmets to be secured.

Both cast aluminium wheels are 16-inch in diameter and roll 80/90-16 and 90/9014 front/rear tyres. The brake system has been simplified; a single-piston caliper now works the front 220mm disc and links to the rear 130mm drum via single-circuit CBS.
